FAQ for Broan IAQ Units
1. What is IAQ and why is it important?
IAQ stands for Indoor Air Quality, which is very important for health and comfort. Small particulate matter (PM2.5) can penetrate deep into the lung and cause breathing problems. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a gas which at high levels can cause drowsiness and affect cognitive function/decision-making performance. Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC) such as formaldehyde have been shown to cause cancer.
2. What are the main IAQ parameters in Singapore?
According to Singapore Standard SS554:2016, the PM2.5 level should be less than 37.5 um/m3, the CO2 level should be less than 700 ppm above the outdoor CO2 level, and the TVOC should be less than 1 ppm.
3. How about installation?
Some units are wall mounted, and some are floor mounted. The outdoor air and exhaust ducts can be installed in the wall or in a window. We suggest window installation as it is quicker and easier. We provide the required accessories for either type of installation.
4. How often should the filters be changed?
It depends on the air conditions and the hours of operation of the IAQ unit. During normal conditions, the filters should be changed every 6-9 months. If the haze returns, the filters must be changed more often.
5. What is the warranty period?
All Broan units are warranted against manufacturer’s defects for one year from date of purchase, if installed and operated according to the manual.
6. How to prove that your products are effective?
All our products are certified with GB (Guobiao) standards for safety and air purifier performance.
*Guobiao standards or GB standards are the Chinese national standards issued by the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), the Chinese National Committee of the ISO and IEC.
7. What are the power consumptions?
All Broan units are equipped with DC motors which are more energy efficient.
8. What is the unique feature of your product?
The Broan IAQ units are the only ones which introduce FRESH OUTDOOR AIR and expel stale indoor air.
